Hey guys. i can't find my product id in steve's clock. If any one can explain it to me better than the manual or better yet has the free clock let me know, please! thanks.
I have got the clock but i don't remember exactly how you can find it. If i remember right you will have to use your jaws cursor to find it and you will have to right click on it and find the option to copy it in the clipboard so you can paste it in the website when you buy the clock.
If i remember right there are two tab controls every time you start the clock. One is trial and the other one is registration and you will have to choose this one.
what is Steve's clock?
Steve's clock is a piece of software that tels the time when you need it, you can set it to speak every hour, 30 minutes, 15 minutes etc.
The good thing about this clock is that users can record their own voices to tell the time. In the manual there are clear instructions of how to record one.
Also on the website there are voices that other users created and some of them are good, some bad, some funny and some pointless.
Anything you want you can find it.
To check it out go to http://clock.steve-audio.net/
You can use it for 15 days without any restrictions and after that if you like it you can buy it. It's not expensive at all. It costs about 10 dollars and the upgrades are free so you only pay once.
In my oppinion it is a very good programme. It has got an alarm as well.
This programme is produced by Stephen Clower.
Thanks, I'll have to check it out.
Bob
Can you set it to play a certain mp3 file for the alarm, can you set it to synch with the clock on the net? Just curious. If it had those two features I'd definitely think it's worth the $10, if it's just a talking clock I prefer the jaws key + f12 to check out the time.
You can't set it to play any mp3s i think but you can choose any wav file you want for the alarm. You can't synchronise the time with this programme but if you have got windows xp you can do that from the date and time in the control pannel.
There is one document with the programme explaining more about time synchronisation.
You can also find the manual on the website and read it without downloading the programme if you want.
Cool, Thanks Niko, I will go check it out.
I love steve's clock! I recommend version 1 because it's free and has similar features.
And where can we find version1? On the Steve's website there is only version 2.3 or something which is not free.
But i think the clock is very cheep 10 dollars and with this price we get all upgrades etc. I think it deservs the price with all the flexibility that the clock provides. In my planns is to create a Greek voice for the clock but still didn't find the time to do it.
You can find 1.0 on the x site interactive website at www.x-site.brandoncole.net, I believe that's the address. You could also google x site interactive.
Download87, that looks like it will be a good site. But, it appears to be under development right now.

$11 is not bad for a talking clock program that does what this does, such as a Big Ben emulator, and the forms of voice concatonation it has. And the proceeds go to a friend of mine.
I agree. Somebody else could charge more for what it can do. I bought the clock about two years ago and after formating my computer i asked steve iff i had to buy it again to have another key and he gave me one for free. But even if i had to buy it again i would do it because it is very good piece of software.
I've found other so called talking clocks that were more expensive, less flexable, and the trial period is 6 days shorter.
Bob, I'm sorry you had problems with the website I gave, I didn't know it was under development. The man who owns the site is a good friend of mine, and I can ask him when the clock will be back up.
No problem, I wasn't complaining, just reporting what I found.
Indeed do let us know when his sight is up and running because it sounds like a good site.
According to google, x site interactive is here.
As for the clock, I'm not obsessed with voices from obscure and not so obscure talking clocks, and I really don't want to hear my own voice more than I absolutely have to. lol. so, for me, I'll keep using insert+f12 for my instantaneous time needs, and my trusty 6620 for alarm-related functions. Still, for those who like it, it's reasonably priced, and the documentation--or what I've read of it--seems clear and informative.
Update to my post 12.
The site works today and looks pretty good.
Bob
Well, to my knowledge, steve's clock 1.0 can do the same things that 2.03 can, so why pay for a program whenyou can get something similar for free. You can even record voices with version 1.
Er, no.
2.03 has more concatonation methods, including a big ben clock emulator. If you know where to look, you can find clocks for it.
